E-text Web Page Login
Follow the steps below to set up your computer to read and display your E-text.
1. Select a Text-to-Speech program.
Macintosh
- TextEdit - a word processor that comes with the Macintosh operating system and it has a text-to-speech tool. No download necessary.
- GhostReader - a text-to-speech tool which offers a MP3 feature. With one click, you can turn your electronic text into an MP3 and listen to it on your iPod or MP3 player.
If you wish to continue using the software after the trial period, make an appointment by calling (573) 884-2828 or toll-free (866) 396-2380. The ACT Center can provide you a software loan, at no-charge, throughout your college career at MU.
Windows
- Free NaturalReader 9.0 - a basic text-to-speech program.
Other Software Available
If you find the programs above will not meet your needs, please contact the ACT Center at (573) 884-2828. We can set up an appointment to discuss other technologies we have for demonstration. Select from the following categories:
2. Log-in to your E-Text Web page.
- Click https://iatsweb.missouri.edu/textbooks.net/ to access your E-Text Web page.
- Enter in your user name (pawprint) and password.
- Bookmark or *Add a Favorite for this page for future reference.
*Search your Internet browser help file on how to add a bookmark or favorite.
What to Expect from the ACT Center:
We begin posting reading material on your E-text Web page within two weeks. If your Web page does NOT contain some of your reading material within two weeks, you experience login problems or have issues with the e-text itself, please call Jennifer at (573) 884-2600.
What we Expect from You:
Please get reading material you need to Mary Borman in the Office of Disability Services in a timely manner. This ensures that we can put it on your E-text page for you, as soon as possible.
Returning Students
A returning student that uses electronic text does not need to install the text-to-speech software again, unless you have a new computer or have uninstalled it.
