Technology for Mobility Impairments
The ACT Center has a wide range of software and hardware products available for persons with disabilities.
Although there are accessible options in the Windows and Macintosh operating system, which can help you customize your computer to fit your needs, there are hardware and software which may enhance these options for greater support.
If you are looking for a specific type of product, read down the list to see if we have it on hand. If it is not listed, please call us, we have many resources which may help you find what you are looking for.
The following software and equipment is for those with mobility impairments. Please keep in mind, if you are looking for dictation software, good breath support is necessary for optimal results.
Software
The following dictation programs take spoken words and convert them into commands and text:

The ACT Center staff members can perform Adaptive Assessments in order to recommend a product, to specifically fit your needs.
Additional Resources
The ACT Center is a certified Missouri Assistive Technology, Telephone Access Program for the Internet (TAPI) center. If you meet the necessary requirements for the Missouri TAPI program, you may be eligible to receive the adaptive software you are looking for at no charge.
