Vendor Requirements

Vendors are required to provide the following accessibility documentation to help us identify accessibility risks.  If the university enters into a contract with a vendor, the accessibility documentation may become part of the final legal contract. Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR)

An Accessibility Conformance Report uses the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT®) document to measure how an ICT product meets the accessibility standards.  The report assesses the accessibility of ICT by explaining how the product meets or does not meet each guideline outlined in the document.  The University of Missouri has adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0, Level AA.  We recommend that someone familiar with WCAG 2.0 and web accessibility complete the VPAT®.

An accessibility statement will not be accepted as a replacement or alternative to an ACR.  If a trusted third-party has audited the product for accessibility, the university will accept this certification along with an ACR.  A conformance statement will not be accepted as a replacement or alternative to the ACR.

  • Download the VPAT® template from the Information Technology Industry Council Website.

Accessibility Roadmap

An Accessibility Roadmap addresses gaps in product accessibility identified in a VPAT®.  The roadmap is a proposal describing how and when the product will be fully accessible. By creating a detailed Accessibility Roadmap, a company illustrates their dedication to improving their product’s accessibility.
